The pilot phase of the KNCV mentoring program, which kicked off in November 2025 with a short introductory session and a speed-matching event, is now well underway.

During a recent mid-program feedback round, we checked in with both mentors and mentees to see how things have been progressing so far. Overall, the response has been very positive. Many mentors shared that they enjoy their conversations and value getting to know their mentees. Some pairs have kept things simple by meeting regularly via Teams, while others have taken it a step further by meeting in person over coffee or lunch.

It has also been interesting to see how differently each mentoring pair approaches the program. Some have set clear goals and are working towards them throughout the program, while others use the space more informally, to ask questions, reflect, or simply talk things through with someone more experienced. Both approaches seem to be working well, which is exactly what we hoped to achieve with the program’s flexible setup.

We have also received valuable feedback from both mentors and mentees, which we look forward to using to further improve the next round.

The next edition of the mentoring program is planned for October/November 2026. So, if you missed out this time and would like to join as a mentor or mentee, keep an eye on the KNCV website for updates and sign-up announcements!
